LexiTopics: Taxonomy

LexiConnexxions has developed a custom taxonomy for the LexiTopics subject analysis of the words in the Spelling Bee lexicon, as described HERE. The taxonomy exists in about seventy broad subjects (the "LexiTopics"), as shown below. From each of these major headings flows a cascade subtopical headings, as shown on each LexiTopics page. Phrases in italics next to the topical headings add context or make limitations clear. NOC = Not Otherwise (or elsewhere) Classified
As is true with all taxonomies, the LexiTopics taxonomy is subject to revision; revisions may consist of "splitting," dividing large categories into two or more specific categories, or "lumping," that is, combining in a single topic two or more related categories. Notes in each LexiTopics report offer more detail on how the various topics are connected, with links to related reports.
Because the Spelling Bee lexicon is dynamic, this LexiTopics analysis project will always be a work in progress; as our work continues, and as new words enter the Spelling Bee lexicon, the taxonomy, word analysis, and presentation are subject to change. New topics may be added, and existing topics may be combined, divided, or re-named. And that means that links will change. Therefore, if you wish to share any LexiTopic report(s), we recommend that you link only to the main LexiTopics page at https://www.lexiconnexxions.com/lexitopics/, as that page (and its URL) will remain stable.
If you cite information from any LexiConnexxions report, please give credit and a link to the relevant page. These reports and analyses are compiled and prepared by a person, not a machine. Thank you. PLEASE NOTE: The taxonomy developed by LexiConnexxions for the LexiTopics project is the sole property of LexiConnexxions and is protected by U.S. copyright law. All rights reserved. Dissemination, re-use, or duplication by any means, for any purpose whatsoever, is prohibited except by express written permission of LexiConnexxions.
